Jeremy Ross cut by Packers

Green Bay Packers Release Kick Returner Jeremy Ross

The Green Bay Packers have released WR Jeremy Ross. The transaction was announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Ross played in eight regular-season games over the past two seasons for the Packers. He averaged 17.9 yards on nine kickoff returns, 20.5 yards on six punt returns and made one catch for 8 yards.

The fact that Ross even had a job after that fumble in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers is was crazy to me. That fumble caused the Packers to lose the game. Ross has never been explosive like Randall Cobb

and has made more mistakes than good plays. I understand why they didn’t want to keep Cobb as a return man, but you have to try and win the games any way possible! Not sure if Cobb is going to take over the return duties or if Jonathan Franklin is going to get a chance, but the Packers need to figure this out. Thankfully we are in a bye week in week 4.

Good luck to Ross on the rest of his career, but if your only job is to return kicks and you can’t even do that, who knows where your career will go.
