Ultrasound

So we are heading out to birthing classes tomorrow night to get ready for our quickly approaching baby girl. We will be taking part in three classes of two hours each on Thursday nights. Although I know that Kate has been through this already, I know this is a good thing for me. I want to make sure I am as functional as possible during the delivery and not just in the way. I want make sure that I am helpful so that Kate’s experience is better than the first time. I’ll report back on what I hear during the first class Thursday night.

Today we went to a appointment for Kate, well actually I started off as being there, but since they took forever to see Kate I had to leave to head to my meeting. I know that there wasn’t a lot going on in that appointment, a few questions and hearing the heart beat, but I was still sad to miss it. The good/bad news is that starting now we have an appointment every two weeks, so I will be able to make today up.

While we were sitting in the room waiting for the doctor, I told Kate I was a little sad that we aren’t having anymore ultra sounds because I didn’t know if I could wait another 9 weeks and 4 days to see her beautiful face. Yeah I said it 9 weeks! Are you serious? We are in the single digits! To be honest I don’t think that it is going to be soon enough for Kate! I feel bad for her because the back is hurting everyday and there is not too much I can do about it. She is doing a great job and know that she is going to make it.

For those of you that don’t know Kate loves basketball and is pretty great at it and although she can’t play at the moment she is getting her fix by coaching a varsity girls team, oh and a middle school team. It’s pretty unbelievable all that she does, she is very strong and shows me this more every day. I hope that when the time comes I can be as strong as her when she needs me the most.
